Dr. Amy Sanderson
Dr. Amy Sanderson established her own private practice in June 2003 as Advanced EyeCare of Madison. With over 70 years of combined optical experience, our office has the solution for your visual needs.
Dr. Amy Sanderson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama. She then pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Sanderson provides consultative and medical optometry in the North Alabama region. She performs volunteer services to the Davis Clinic and Community Free Clinic on a regular basis in addition to serving on several community boards.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Alabama Optometric Association, and the North Alabama Optometric Society.
Dr. Sanderson examines the internal and external structure of the eyes to diagnose eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts and retinal disorders; systemic diseases like hypertension and diabetes; and vision conditions like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia in her comprehensive eye exam. She also does testing to determine the patient's ability to focus and coordinate the eyes, and to judge depth and see colors accurately. She prescribes eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as medicines to treat eye diseases. Additionally, she coordinates care with many medical specialties such as dermatology, endocrinology, neurology, and ophthalmology. As a primary eye care provider, Dr. Sanderson is an integral part of the health care team and an entry point into the health care system. She is skilled in peri-operative care and is an excellent source of referral to other health care professionals.

Dr. Jessica B. Norris
Dr. Jessica Norris is originally from Ozark, Alabama where she graduated valedictorian of Dale County High School. She attended Auburn University at Montgomery and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Science. She was named the Physical Science Student of the Year. She then obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has participated in several mission trips to provide optometric services to the underprivileged in Central America. She also enjoys playing the piano and is the church pianist for First Baptist Church of Gurley.
Dr. Norris enjoys providing consultative and medical optometry to the North Alabama area. She has a great interest in diagnosing and treating all eye conditions including glaucoma, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy. She performs comprehensive evaluations of the eyes including testing for glasses and contacts. She also works closely with ophthalmologists in the region to provide post-operative cataract and refractive surgery (LASIK) care. Dr. Norris prescribes medications to treat all eye conditions, including eye infections. She gladly cares for eye emergencies and is a reliable source of referral to other health care professionals. Dr. Norris strives to not only provide exceptional care to her patient's eyes, but also works as part of a health care team to care for her patient's entire well being.
